For Additional Information About the Parks

Hocking Hills Visitor CenterNot only does Hocking Hills State Park offer the finest natural features, but many modern, convenient facilities have also been added.  The Hocking Hills Visitors Center at Old Man's Cave contains a snack bar, information booth, nature store and restrooms.  Educational displays introduce visitors to the geologic and natural history of the region.

A new camp/park office Welcome Center has been added to assist the visitor with camping and cottage reservation, questions and generally help orient visitors with the entire area.  This is also a great place to pick up the little bit of forgotten camping gear, a great keepsake or even a small snack for the trail. To contact the camp/park office call 740-385-6842.

Hocking Hills CottagesNearby are the park’s 40 two-bedroom cottages, each of which can accommodate up to six people and is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, cooking utensils, microwave, TV, romantic gas fireplace, air conditioning and linens. Reservations can be made by calling 1-866-OHIOPARKS (644-6727) or Register Online. Hocking Hills Dining Lodge, located on SR 664 near Old Man’s Cave, offers a dining room open April through October, meeting rooms and an outdoor swimming pool open to the public.  Day-use of the pool between Memorial Day and Labor Day is available for a nominal fee. Passes can be purchased at the Park Registration Office near Old Man’s cave. View campground and sites map.

Shelter houses may be reserved at Old Man’s Cave and Ash Cave.  Interested parties should contact the park office for availability and current fees at 740-385-6842 ext. 200.

Hocking Hills CampgroundNorth of the dining lodge, campers will find the park’s campground offering a total of 172 sites (159 with electricity).  Shower houses, laundry, a trailer waste disposal station and swimming pool are added conveniences.  A family walk-in primitive camp area and youth-group-only primitive camp are available for those who choose to “rough it.”  Reservations for the Cottages or Campground can be made by calling:  1-866-OHIOPARKS(644-6727) or Register Online. View campground and sites map.

Anglers find 17-acre Rose Lake (located two miles south of Old Man’s Cave on SR 374) enjoyable.  The lake is accessible by a foot trail only.  A valid Ohio fishing license is required.  (Note:  swimming at the lake is not permitted.)

Year-round naturalist programs are conducted in the park to acquaint the visitor with the fascinating natural history of the region.  The programs include hikes, interpretive talks, movies, campfires and programs for Junior Naturalist (ages 7 to 14). For Naturalist information please contact the Park Naturalist at 740-385-6842 ext. 213.
